So I went on the Internet and found this:
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
The ad says "engine is in limp mode; requires a new oil pump or oil pressure sending unit."
So now, to google. How hard is it to replace the oil pressure sending unit or oil pump in an RX-8?
Looks like uncharted territory that I don't want to venture into.

Do you know if its the Oil Metering pump, or the engine oil pump? If it is the first, a viable solution is to buy/fab a block off plate and mix 2-stroke oil in with the gas in a ~160:1 ratio.

Don't touch it. Oil pressure issues will kill a rotary quick fast and in a hurry. The oil is used to cool the internals as well as for lubrication. If it is in fact the sender and not the pump it would be alright, but that's a big gamble.
There's a reason the ECU thinks it's a big enough issue to warrant limp mode.

No clue, since I'm using Google Translate. I'm staying away from this one. Just thought that this would be a fun URL/story to chat about.

Yeah, I'm kind of running the other way.
Especially with these other deals out there:

Probably wise. I got lucky with my Rex, it had a fresh engine installed about 10k before I bought it, and a good bit of maintenance work done as well. Otherwise, I hear they can become money pits.
